ARD International Music Competition

The ARD International Music Competition takes place annually in September in Munich in three alternating categories. Since 2001, the already strong presence of contemporary music has been significantly strengthened by awarding commissions to prominent composers. Three commissioned compositions are awarded each year, which are premiered by the candidates in the semi-final.

For the year 2025, Annelies Van Parys has been commissioned with a work. The commission is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Annelies Van Parys will write for trumpet.
